It’s a private travel membership for people who already travel well but want someone who thinks ahead with them: one person who gets to know you and your family, helps you plan years of travel rather than one trip at a time, and connects you with exceptional people around the world who can make it happen, without asking you to give up relationships that already work.

What affects the cost

Your family

Membership covers you and your immediate family. Friends and guests are always welcome to join your trips. If other adults would like their own planning through your membership, the annual fee may be adjusted.

Your travel

Flights, stays, charters and experiences are billed separately, and you always see exactly what you’re paying for. We use our relationships with our travel partners to secure added value on your behalf wherever we can.

How Mavalis is different from a travel agency

Who you work with. With an agency, often a different advisor or desk. With Mavalis, one dedicated Expert who already knows you.

Where each trip starts. With an agency, from scratch with every request, even a great one. With Mavalis, from a three-year Compass that already accounts for where your family is headed.

Already have a travel agent?

There’s no need to choose. Many members keep a trusted agent and bring Mavalis in for the journeys that matter most, then let us take on more over time. Whatever you need, from a weekend away to the trip of a lifetime, we’re here for all of it.

Here’s what that looks like in practice. Say you’ve worked with the same advisor for a decade and that relationship is excellent. Nothing about Mavalis changes it. What changes is the year or two before any of that planning starts: your Mavalis Expert and your Compass help you decide where your family’s travel should go next, built around your children’s ages, your school calendar, and the trips you don’t want to miss. Once a trip is decided, you choose who executes it, your existing advisor, a Mavalis travel partner, or both. We’re not trying to win every booking. We’re trying to make sure the right trips happen at the right time.

I already belong to Exclusive Resorts or a similar club. Does Mavalis still make sense?

Often, yes, and not as a replacement. Members use Mavalis both ways: some bring us in for the trips another membership doesn’t cover, a milestone celebration, a destination outside that portfolio, private aviation, a multigenerational trip. Others ask us to layer in what a destination club can’t provide on its own: a local specialist, a restaurant that doesn’t take reservations, a day on the water with someone who actually knows those waters. Either way, your Compass accounts for your whole travel life, not just what runs through Mavalis.

The value of membership

Members feel the value of Mavalis in four ways.

Time given back, and the trip of a lifetime. One family spent more than 100 hours of their own time trying to plan a trip through a well-known concierge service, with major pieces of the itinerary still unplanned 48 hours before departure. With Mavalis, planning their next trip, to Iceland, started with one conversation. Their Expert built the route around the family’s pace, matched every guide to their children’s ages and interests, and took the time to understand one child’s particular needs so he’d never feel like an afterthought. It became the trip they still talk about.
Built around you, not for anyone. One couple’s trip through Chile, planned by a well-known travel agent, came back watered down: the obvious hotels, the expected stops, a trip that could have been built for anyone. They didn’t learn until they arrived that a destination they would have loved had never even been offered. For their next journey, through Australia and Tasmania, their Mavalis travel partner offered three genuinely different ways to spend two weeks within two days of a single conversation, so they chose exactly what to include and what to leave out.
Doors that don’t open online. Through our curated travel partners, members reach places that simply aren’t available to book. One group of friends was welcomed to a private dinner at a Telluride vineyard that doesn’t market to visitors, made possible only because their travel partner is a longstanding, trusted customer there. Another member had spent a year trying to book a particular hotel suite with no luck; their travel partner secured it within days.
More of every trip. Because we work directly with our travel partners, members often receive more than they booked. One group found that without a middleman commission built into the price, the savings simply became more of the trip: better wine, better gear, another memory made together instead of margin paid away. One member separately counted $2,100 in upgrades and extras on a single six-day trip. Every trip is different, so we’ll walk through your plans with you and show you the value we can bring.

What is Mavalis?

Mavalis is a private, invitation-only travel membership. Each member is paired with a dedicated Mavalis Expert who comes to know their preferences, their pace and their standards, and who manages every detail of travel from there, drawing on our network of vetted travel partners and quiet technology that anticipates what a member needs before they ask.

How is Mavalis different from a traditional travel advisor or agency?

A traditional advisor, even an excellent one, typically starts fresh with each request and is often compensated through commissions built into the price you pay. Mavalis members work with one consistent Expert who already understands them, guided by a three-year Compass built around your family rather than one trip at a time. The membership structure means there’s no incentive to upsell or steer you toward partners who pay the highest commission. Our interests are aligned with yours.

Who is Mavalis designed for?

Individuals and families who travel often, expect a great deal, and no longer want to spend their limited time researching, coordinating or vetting new providers for every trip, including people who already have excellent advisors, aviation arrangements, or destination club memberships and want someone thinking a few years ahead on top of what they already have.

Is membership really by invitation only?

Yes. Membership is intentionally limited to maintain the quality of service and the calibre of access we provide. Prospective members typically join through a referral from an existing member or a personal introduction from our team.

How membership works

What happens after I join?

Your dedicated Mavalis Expert will reach out personally to get to know you: your preferences, your travel history and what matters most to you. From there, they begin tailoring your experience, whether that means building your Compass or connecting you with the right travel partner for an upcoming trip.

How quickly can a trip be planned once I’m a member?

Because your Expert already knows your preferences and standards, most trips can be designed and confirmed far faster than with a new advisor each time. Timelines vary with the complexity and the destination, but members often tell us the experience feels effortless by comparison.

Can I request a destination, property or experience that isn’t already in the Mavalis network?

Yes. Part of the value of membership is that your Expert and our travel partners can pursue access on your behalf, including properties, events and experiences that are not publicly available or bookable.

What is the Compass?

A three-year travel strategy, built with you and your family around the moments that matter: your children’s ages and school calendars, milestone celebrations, multigenerational trips, and the experiences worth planning for rather than squeezing in. It’s reviewed at least once a year and refined after every journey.

Is my family included?

Yes, you and your immediate family are included. Friends and guests are always welcome on your trips. If other adults would like their own planning through your membership, your annual fee may be adjusted.

What if I need help while I’m travelling?

Your Expert is available during the day, and our travel partners on the ground are available around the clock, wherever you are.

How does Mavalis use AI?

Quietly, and in service of your Expert, not in place of them. As you travel, we keep track of what worked, what didn’t, and the small preferences most people never think to mention twice, an aisle seat, a quiet corner table, a property style you keep choosing. Your Expert draws on this when building your Compass and planning each trip, so nothing has to be explained from scratch. We’re early in building this out, and we treat your information with the same discretion as everything else: it’s never sold, shared, or used for anything beyond serving you better.

Terms & pricing

What’s the difference between Founding Membership and Membership?

Both include your dedicated Mavalis Expert, your Compass, and every benefit of membership. Founding Membership is limited to 25 members (12 remaining) and adds personal access to the founders plus a complimentary week at our founders’ retreat in Provence.

Is there a minimum commitment or contract term?

Membership renews automatically on an annual basis. You’re welcome to cancel at the end of any annual term, and there’s no obligation to book a minimum number of trips in the meantime. Membership fees are non-refundable, and your membership fee is separate from the cost of any individual trip or experience.

What does the membership fee cover, and what doesn’t it cover?

Your membership covers your dedicated Mavalis Expert, the Compass process and access to our travel partners, with unmetered requests. It does not cover the cost of travel itself: flights, accommodation and experiences are billed separately.

How does the 10% travel credit work?

You receive a 10% travel credit on your first $100,000 in hotel bookings made through Mavalis. That credit can be used toward future bookings on your trips with Mavalis.

What’s different about Mavalis for private aviation if I already charter?

The same thing that’s different everywhere else in your membership: one person who already knows how you fly, coordinating directly with our aviation partner rather than you routing through a broker and stitching that flight into the rest of the trip yourself. For a member who already charters regularly, the value usually isn’t price, it’s having aviation planned as part of the same trip, by someone who already knows the rest of it.

What if I’m not satisfied with an experience Mavalis arranges?

Your Expert is your advocate before, during and after every trip. If something falls short of expectations, we want to know, and we work directly with our travel partners to make it right.

Trust & privacy

How is my personal information and travel data handled?

Member information is held in strict confidence and is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. It is used solely to provide a more thoughtful, personal membership experience.

Who are your travel partners, and how are they vetted?

Our travel partners are specialist operators (villa, hotel, yacht, aviation, wellness, safari and experience providers) who have been personally vetted by the Mavalis team over 20+ years for quality, reliability and discretion. Members are matched with the right partner for each request, and Mavalis remains your single point of contact throughout.
